Tenancy

for repairs to the property.
- You cannot sell on the
goodwill of the business.
- Usually a short term
Agreement (3-5 years).
Lease
- You rent a pub property
from a brewery or pub
company.
- You are self-employed and
you employ everyone in the

- You have full responsibility
for repairs to the property.
- You can sell on the goodwill
of the business.
- Usually a long term
Agreement (10-21 years).
Managed House
- You are employed by a
brewery or pub company
who owns the property.
- You are paid a salary.
- The pub company employs
everyone working in the
pub.
- The pub company is
responsible for all repairs to
the property.
Free House
- You own the pub property
yourself.
- You are self-employed and
you employ everyone in the
business.
- You have full responsibility
for repairs to the property.
