What's the difference between a tenancy and a lease?

Do I have to buy everything from Greene King Pub Partners?

No. You have the flexibility to buy your wines, spirits and soft drinks form where you choose, however you will have access to our drinks portfolio which offers an extensive, market leading range of drinks available across all major drinks categories at competitive prices.

What is the Volume Discount Scheme?

Our Volume Discount Scheme (VDS) offers you the opportunity to get cash back on draught beer. You have the opportunity to earn £100 for every barrel achieved over target. Your VDS target will be set at the start of your Agreement.

Foundation Agreement holders are excluded from this scheme.

Do you offer discounts for other goods and services?

Yes. Our Licensee Support with Pelican Buying Group offers discounts on a wide range of goods and services, as well as a comprehensive package of promotions and product offers for all agreements.

What background information will I receive about the pub?

The background information will vary by each business, however as well as the information available on the site, we will be able to provide you with some historical volume figures, and our Regional Managers will be able to provide some general pub history. With regard to assignable leases, the turnover figures and other information about the business are supplied by the current lessees - you'll need to verify these before proceeding.

How much will taking over a pub cost me?

Inevitably, taking over the running of a pub will involve a number of costs. However, these costs can vary enormously depending on the type, size and location of the pub, the terms of the Agreement and many other factors. Be sure to thoroughly read the pub details available on this site. What do I get for paying my weekly Compliance and Service Agreement charge?

The Compliance Charge covers the cost of Greene King Pub Partners Buildings Insurance and the annual Premises Licence. The Service Agreement charge, payable by our tenancies only, covers the costs of the statutory certification, and the repair and maintenance of most major and large essential equipment eg. boiler, cellar cooling equipment.

What about insurance cover?

The Greene King Pub Partners Buildings Insurance is re-charged to you through the Compliance Charge, however as detailed in our Code of Practice, you are required to insure the other areas of your business that you will be responsible for, including: public and product liability, employee liability, fixtures and fittings and loss of income.
