We’re investing in this pub, now we need the right person to run it
We have plans for this business – quite literally – there are first stage proposals for developing the Abergeldie into a modern retail pub that makes the most of its location. Now is the time to talk to us as you can help shape our ideas to build a unique business that’s right for you. This pub has the potential to become a great gathering, eating and meeting place for friends and families all year round. We are planning to update the space and provide direct access to the beer garden which currently can only be reached by an alley alongside the pub – making it even more popular with customers and easier to manage service during the summer months.
We’ll help you with training to make the most of this investment and when you refocus your food offer, you could consider the Greene King Food & Supplies Service which provides menus, ingredients, training, marketing support and everything you need to serve great food at better margins than you could achieve yourself. You’ll need to have a clear sense of your community to create a space that delivers pool, darts, karaoke and entertainment to ensure there ‘is always something on’ and that the pub stays in the hearts of customers.
The pub has a main bar and adjacent lounge bar with a popular pool table. Outside is a substantial and well-tended beer garden which we would look to provide direct access to in our redevelopment plans. This would optimise the layout and make the business easier to manage and more popular in the summer months.

The pub is on the outskirts of the city centre in a fairly affluent area of Aberdeen with numerous residential properties within the pub catchment area. Most of your potential customers live in flats or terraced houses but these have a high degree of ownership. Socially, residents are mostly C1 (supervisory) or C2 (semi-skilled) and average age is around 30-44. With a large number (55%) of single people along with high levels of single occupancy, this pub is in a prime location for socialising.
