Pub overview

Fantastic opportunity in the coastal village of Rottingdean for an experienced operator to take over this established business.

As the oldest pub in Rottingdean, the Black Horse is a traditional village site. Recently refurbished, the pub is decorated based on Rottingdean's strong history of smuggling - of which the Black Horse was most definitely a key component! The pub consists of a main bar and dining area featuring an old log burner and a second bar which has been refurbished to represent the pubs history. There is also a small snug area which is located in the oldest part of the building and sits upon the original smugglers tunnels.

The Black Horse is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced operator to take over this established business. The food offer is an essential part of the business and applicants need to have extensive kitchen experience and be capable of producing quality home cooked food to sit alongside a specials offering, which forms a unique selling point for this site. Currently offering regular quiz nights, live singing and cabaret at weekends the Black Horse has an atmosphere that appeals to a variety of customers. The prospective applicants must be prepared to be a part of the local community and the driving force in promoting local events.

Two bar site with separate trading areas, and additional small snug to the front of the site with comfy chesterfield arm chairs. A well positioned trade kitchen, store room and toilets. The cellar is ground floor.
