Empty Nesters! Is It Time To Run A Pub?
Date added: Mon, 12/09/2016 - 10:00
At this time of year many people will be saying goodbye to the last of their children as they pack up and leave home for University. Although adult children increasingly have a habit of coming back home, this marks a new chapter in their parents’ lives, as they become Empty Nesters!
You may already be there. Perhaps your family now have jobs and their own roof over their heads and it’s now time to think about what you want out of life? We certainly see a lot of people in this position who decide that now is the right time to start a business, run a pub, and do something for themselves.
In the video below our Pub Partners team chat about Empty Nesters and why breweries like us are welcoming them as tenant landlords.
Why Empty Nesters Make Great Pub Landlords
Are you an empty nester? Perhaps you are looking ahead at your last 20 years or so of work and thinking about changing what you plan to do with them. If you have kids that have left home and have that new found freedom, running a pub can be a great way to spend your working years before retirement. If so and you are seriously considering becoming a landlord and running a pub, we are here to chat about the business!
As Dick says in another one of our videos (What to Ask a Brewery If You Are Thinking of Running a Pub), it’s really important to talk to as many people as possible about your options when it comes to running a pub, what it takes in terms of capital, paperwork, training etc., and most importantly, whether you have the drive, passion and enthusiasm to make a pub business a success.
We’re just on the other end of the phone so if you think you’re ready to let a pub, or just exploring your options, give us a call.
