The Boot – a pub operated by Greene King and All Our Bars – in Bracknell, Berkshire, has reopened after a £500,000 refurbishment.
The popular town centre pub has had extensive redesign and refit which has taken several months to complete. This exciting project highlights the opportunities available to prospective pub tenants with drive and inspired ideas. In particular it shows what is possible by working with a brewery such as Greene King, that is committed to the success of its pub tenants' businesses.
Paul Wigham, CEO of All Our Bars, said: “Once again, it has been a brilliant experience working with our partners Greene King who have been hugely supportive throughout a long renovation process. This is a true retail/pubco partnership that transcends many of the industry issues that are making headlines for the wrong reasons.”
Pub refit increases revenue potential
The refit of The Boot has increased the trading potential of the pub, enabling it to attract a broader clientele right across the trading day. This is a brilliant example of how design and entrepreneurial business planning can create a thriving pub business.
Both the interior and exterior have undergone a complete overhaul with the site now set to feature an extended trading area, additional natural lighting from glass roofs and external beach huts for al-fresco dining.
Attracting customers across the trading day
It has also been re-floored and re-decorated throughout with the more formal dining area to be available for private functions and meetings. Local and seasonal dishes will be served daily from breakfast through to dinner.
Paul Wigham, commenting on the design and the prospects for The Boot added: “It is a fantastic pub and dining venue with innovative drinks and a fine menu of tantalising dishes. The designers have come up with some amazing ideas that really show what a beautiful building this is, it’s looking superb.
The Boot will be extending its existing cask and real ale range and introducing new craft beers and ciders. The offering will also include a wide selection of rare premium spirits and fine wines.
The pub will also be opening early for cake and coffee mornings, with a selection of freshly baked cakes and pastries, and will be serving up traditional roasts on Sundays.
Working in partnership
Phil Arnold, Partnership and Recruitment Manager at Greene King, said: “Greene King has an extensive range of pubs across the UK. The investment and partnership opportunities that All Our Bars have benefitted from are available to anyone that works with Greene King. Whether you are getting started with a single pub or you are looking to add a property to your existing pub business, it is your ideas and motivation that are most exciting to Greene King’s Pub Partners team and the Business Development Managers that work with its pub tenants.”
Commenting finally on the success of the refurbishment project Paul from All Our Bars added: “We look forward to continuing our partnership into the future. Our thanks also go to Carty Building Contractors, Gardiff and particularly Focus Design with who we have now worked on four major projects. Their service is first class and their designs practical and innovative.”
