You don’t have to have run a pub before to be a successful pub licensee, in fact many of our pub tenants come from very different walks of life. However, there are skills and qualifications you need; some might come from your current job (transferrable skills), others you can get by attending training courses.

Greene King runs award winning training courses that provide pub licensees and their staff with all the skills and qualifications needed to run a pub. What experience do you need? While you don’t have to have a degree to run a pub, you may have past experience and skills that can make a huge difference to your success.
