The pub has a prominent position on the busy A515, which is the main road between Ashbourne and Buxton. The nearby Dove Dale nature reserve is an attraction for many, whilst the Tissington trail is enjoyed by walkers and cyclists.
One of the high points of the year is the Well Dressings which attracts 50,000 visitors.
