33 Queen Street, Stotfold, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, SG5 4NX
This is a well-established village pub with a great reputation for its food and friendly atmosphere.
A very well presented site, the Chequers in Stotfold has everything a great British pub should; large restaurant, car park, play area, and large garden. We are looking for a community focused operator who will embed themselves into this growing village. The ability to deliver good quality food in a warm and welcoming drinking environment will be key to maximise the fantastic facilities the site enjoys. The garden is a real asset to this business, with a children's play area, bespoke pizza oven and patio area.
It is thought that a village pub has stood on the site of the Chequers since 1645, and this pub really deserves to be the best pub in the village.
The successful operator should be someone who is truly community focused and enjoys hosting traditional events, such as quiz nights, live music, beer festivals and building on traditional events such as the Working Steam Weekend. This is a pub which needs the landlord and landlady to be the heart of the business and the hub of the community.
The trading area is made up of two bars. There is the lounge bar which has beams, a large fire place, approximately 16 seats and a dining room running off it. The dining room has a large patio leading to a large garden, which has a safe play area for children with climbing frames and there is car parking for approximately 30 cars. Food is served throughout the pub with circa 80 covers available. The main bar is a good size and offers a lovely environment for casual drinks. There is an outdoor pizza oven as well that is popular in the summer.
