The Friar is a popular wet led community pub with pool and darts teams and is a great space to watch sport! The pubs great atmosphere and warm and friendly welcome makes it a fantastic place for everyone to be. Furthermore, The Friar is the perfect place for a busy night out on the weekend or a quiet night out during the week.

Location

Colchester is an historic market town and the largest settlement within the borough of Colchester in the county of Essex. The Friar,in the heart of Essex, is at the centre of the community surrounded by housing and opposite a busy shopping parade. As the oldest recorded Roman town in Britain, Colchester is claimed to be the oldest town in Britain and is some 50 miles northeast of London and is connected to the capital by the A12 road and its railway station which is on the Great Eastern Main Line. It is seen as a popular town for commuters and is less than 30 miles away from Stansted Airport.
