Engine

3 Station Road, Baldock, Hertfordshire, SG7 5BS

A COMMUNITY LOCAL

The Engine at Baldock is a 100% wet led pub, benefitting from its proximity to the Railway Station on the edge of the town. The pub would benefit from the introduction of a food offer, with pub classics the order of the day. The pub is currently a hub of music and entertainment and although they should be an important part of the offer going forward, the offer should evolve to be less dependent on these. The pub lies on a good size plot, with rear garden and children's play equipment. The pub attracts a strong cross section of trade from the immediate area including commuters. A strong rhythm of the week needs to be established as the backbone to support increased sales.

Location

Baldock is a historic market town in the local government district of North Hertfordshire. The town was founded by the Knights Templar in the 1140s where the River Ivel rises. It lies 33 miles north of London, 15 miles southeast of Bedford and 14 miles northwest of the county town of Hertford. Nearby towns include Letchworth and Hitchin to the southwest and Stevenage to the south. The Engine sits in a prominent location opposite the town's railway station, which provides a fantastic commuter service to London.

I am looking for a passionate operator who is ready to introduce a classic pub offer including home cooked food, live music and a good selection of events throughout the month to drive sales. This opportunity would potentially suit a first-time publican.
