TRADITIONAL COUNTRY PUB

The Prince of Wales is a traditional country pub situated on the old Roman Road opposite the village green in Mountnessing. The Mountnessing Post Mill is a tourist attraction to the area and sees lots of visitors each year come to the local area. We are looking for a new operator to maximise trade by making the pub the hub of the community with engaging events and to continue offering a good quality food and drink offer. The pub attracts customers from around the local area and as a destination venue. An operator who can drive drinks and food volume and engage with the community could really thrive here.

Location

Mountnessing is a village in the Borough of Brentwood in south Essex, England. It is situated to the north-east of Brentwood, south-west of Ingatestone. The village has a Grade II-listed Mountnessing Post Mill which is often photographed and sees many visitors. The present mill was built in 1807, however there are records of a windmill on this site as early as 1477. A large proportion of the houses are situated on the Roman Road (formerly the A12 road until the village was bypassed in the 1970s) between Brentwood and Ingatestone. The two closest railway stations of Shenfield and Ingatestone.

I am seeking an enthusiastic operator either with experience or someone who is looking to run their first pub. The Prince of Wales is a traditional community pub which is split 70/30 in favour of wet trade. We are looking for an operator to build a good food offer and drive beer sales. If this sounds like an exciting opportunity, then please contact our recruitment team for further information.
