Pub overview

Historic pub in a great city-centre location. Famous for showing great sport and providing a welcoming atmosphere.

The Shakespeare dates back from Tudor times, it was originally located in Chester and moved, brick-by-brick, in the 1920s to its current location. The business is famous for its great atmosphere and superb selection of cask ales. Known for showing sport, people seek it out when there’s a match on.

This is a traditional pub that provides a welcome escape for the bustle of the city. The outside of the pub still has the original Tudor façade and inside, the space behaves as a modern retail operation but keeps many of the traditional fittings that help to keep things authentic.
