Greene King Pub Partners kick starts franchise investment programme for 2026
2026 has begun with a milestone moment for our franchise business, as the Flag in Egerton proudly opened its doors as the first franchise opening of the year. Following a significant upgrade and refurbishment, the pub welcomed guests back on 29th January, marking its successful transformation from a managed pub model into a Nest pub franchise.
With an investment of £260,000, the refurbishment has reimagined the Flag while staying true to the principles that define the Nest experience. The result is a welcoming, community focused pub designed to bring people together in a way that feels both familiar and refreshed.
The refurbishment aligns closely with Nest’s key proof points. Social sport has been carefully considered, with TV positions selected to provide an excellent viewing experience without dominating the pub environment. A clear social schedule sets the rhythm of the week, supported by ‘What’s On’, ‘Our Community’ and ‘Our Teams’ boards, alongside digital communications that keep guests informed and engaged.
Great value sits at the heart of the offer, with a new pizza range, house ale, frequent quiz nights and live music all helping to create reasons to visit again and again. Local character has also been embraced, with local bricabrac showcased in the front bar and the newly upgraded courtyard area.
This opening signals the start of another busy year for the franchise team, with more than 30 further openings planned throughout 2026. The Flag in Egerton sets the standard for what’s to come.
