Legislation that matters
As a pub-owning business we’re regulated by legislation in England and Wales. In short, it covers the relationship between us and our tied licensees, and sets out rights, practices and procedures. In Scotland we follow a voluntary Code of Practice. Working with us gives you peace of mind that you’re protected by a legal infrastructure that you can rely on.
England & Wales
As a pub-owning business operating over 500 tied pubs in England and Wales, Greene King is regulated by the Pubs Code which is overseen by a Pubs Code Adjudicator.
Scotland
Our pubs in Scotland are covered by a voluntary Code of Practice. This sets out the minimum guidelines we must work within and helps support our relationships with our pubs. As a regulated business, we operate uniformly throughout the UK as our licensee relationships are our highest priority.
