As a pub-owning business operating pubs in Scotland, we are signatories to the Scottish Beer & Pub Association’s Scottish Code of Practice.
THE CODE OF PRACTICE
The Code of Practice (the Code) describes the minimum requirements governing the operation of tied public houses in Scotland. The Code is supervised by the Pub Governing Body.
THE CODE STANDARDS
The Code details a set of standards for pub-owning businesses regarding the interaction with tied tenants throughout the life of their relationship.
COMPLIANCE WITH THE CODE
At Greene King our Code Compliance Officer (CCO) oversees the delivery of our compliance with the Scottish Code of Practice. Our CCO is available to answer any queries you or your advisor may have about the Code and its operation within Greene King. Please note any tied pub tenant complaints are overseen by the CCO.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION SERVICES
The Pub Governing Body overseas two dispute resolution services for pub-owning businesses and tied pub tenants not regulated by The Pubs Code (etc) Regulations 2016 (England and Wales). At Greene King these services are available for our Scottish tied pub tenants.
Pubs Independent Rent Review Scheme (PIRRS)
A low cost rent dispute resolution service for the licensed industry in respect of cyclical rent reviews and agreement renewals. This service is also available for our tied rent disputes in England and Wales.
