Greene King Pub Partners opens sixth Nest Pub
Greene King Pub Partners, the leased, tenanted and franchise business unit of Greene King, has opened its sixth Nest Pub – The Marquis of Lorne in Stevenage.
To turn it into a Nest Pub, The Marquis of Lorne in Stevenage received a £260,000 investment from Greene King, resulting in the transformation of the pub inside and outside.
The pub will be operated by franchisees Mark Teare and Natasha Thomas. Before taking on The Marquis of Lorne, the pair both worked for Pontins, the holiday parks operator.
Nest Pubs is the second pub franchise concept from Greene King Pub Partners, building on the success of Hive Pubs, the first pub franchise concept the Greene King business launched in 2021 and which now operates in over 50 sites.
Nest Pubs, which launched in March this year, are wet-led pubs predominantly located on busy high streets and in communities, providing great value, an excellent experience and regular sport and entertainment.
Complete with their own unique identity, look and feel in line with the concept, each Nest Pub serves a wide drinks range including beer, ale, wines, spirits, coffee and low and no options, alongside easy to serve pizzas as a food option for hungry pub-goers.
Each Nest Pub has Sky Sports and TNT Sport subscriptions, with the sporting offer being a key feature of the concept. Alongside this, they also provide a regular calendar of entertainment ranging from pub quizzes to live music and karaoke.
Aimed at those with hospitality management experience who want to take the step up and run their own business with enhanced support, a franchisee can get the keys to their own Nest Pub for just £3,000.
As wet-led pub businesses with a simple to deliver food offer, Nest Pubs have lower staffing costs and enable franchisees to focus on providing a great pub experience.
Franchisees earn through a percentage of the net weekly turnover of their pub, alongside a quarterly percentage of business profits and annual bonuses.
