Golden Lion

69-70 Allhallowgate, Ripon, North Yorkshire, HG4 1LE

The Golden Lion represents a terrific opportunity for a first time operator to run their first pub business. The pub is community focused and will need an operator who has a passion for ale, willing to implement excellent standards of service and who can create a warm friendly atmosphere, engaging with locals and visitors alike. The site is currently 80% wet led, so offers an excellent opportunity to re-launch a traditional pub food offer. The site is a single bar operation, but has lots of quirky drinking areas dotted around. The site has excellent footfall, being close the town centre, market place and is surrounded by residential homes. An exciting future awaits the Golden Lion, all we need is you.

Ripon is a cathedral city in the Borough of Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is located at the confluence of two tributaries of the River Ure, the Laver and Skell. The city is noted for its main feature, Ripon Cathedral, which is architecturally significant, as well as the Ripon Racecourse and other features such as its market. The tradition of the Ripon Hornblower has endured since the year 886 and continues to this day. It originates with the wakeman of Ripon, whose job in the Middle Ages was similar to that of a mayor. Every day at 9:00 pm the horn is blown at the four corners of the obelisk in Ripon Marketplace. The horn has become the symbol of the city and represents Ripon on the Harrogate borough coat of arms. The Golden Lion is located in a bustling residential area, just off of the busy marketplace. The town is made up of various shops, including high street names as well as various pubs and restaurants
