Greene King Pub Partners raise over £8,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support

Greene King Pub Partners, the leased, tenanted and franchise division of Greene King, has raised over £8,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The funds were raised at a charity golf tournament organised by members of the Pub Partners operations team for Greene King’s leased and tenanted partners in the South West. Suppliers including Asahi and Molson Coors also participated in the tournament.

The tournament took place at Meon Valley Golf & Country Club over an 18-hole golf course. A total of 16 teams entered the tournament, ranging from single-site and multiple operators with Greene King Pub Partners, to sector suppliers and Greene King members of staff. A team from Pub Partners pub The Cricketers in Curdridge won the tournament.

To round the day of golf off, a charity auction was also held at the end of the tournament to top up the amount fundraised for Macmillan Cancer Support. All of the money raised will help the charity continue to do whatever it takes to provide vital care and support for people living with cancer.

Rob Ayling, Business Development Manager for Greene King Pub Partners – who organised the tournament – said:

“We had a great day hosting a brilliant golf tournament for our partners, but more importantly, we raised over £8,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Thank you to all our partners and suppliers for making the charity tournament – and significant funds raised from it – possible.”

Wayne Shurvinton, Managing Director for Greene King Pub Partners, said:

“As a business we are deeply proud of our partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support. It is wonderful to have come together with our Partners and suppliers to raise such significant sums for this remarkable charity.”
