THE OSTRICH IN CASTLE ACRE COMPLETES £350,000 TRANSFORMATION

The Ostrich in Castle Acre, Norfolk, has been transformed following a £350,000 joint investment from pub owners Greene King Pub Partners and licensees Ant Ciavarella and Aoife Halliday.

The renovated pub features a new function room, six completely overhauled ensuite rooms and a revamped garden complete with a large, German-style Schwenker Grill for BBQs and garden furniture.

With its transformation now finished, the pub is expecting a bumper end to the summer holidays making the most of its garden space and its Schwenker Grill, with the 3 fireplaces keeping the approaching cooler months at bay.

The pub serves a wide range of beers with rotating local ales and wine list curated by licensee Aoife Halliday to tickle all types of taste buds. The back shelf is unique for a country pub and seasonal drink creations will be announced on The Ostrich’s social channels.

The Ostrich has been a pub for over 500 years and is still a pub first and foremost, somewhere built for fun, somewhere guests can feel comfortable grabbing a pint or two with mates or sitting down to a 3-course meal. The food is overseen by chef James Thacker who has over 20 years of experience throughout France and the UK, his menu offering up pub favourites alongside dishes not usually seen at country pubs, with meat eaters and non-meat eaters, equally catered for.

Ant Ciavarella and Aoife Halliday, licensees of The Ostrich, said:

“We are delighted to have completed the transformation of The Ostrich. We wanted to get the pub just right and fully aligned with our vision, so it is great to see it come to fruition thanks to the support of Greene King Pub Partners.”
